December 25

Christmas is when we celebrate God with us. Easter is when we celebrate God for us. Pentecost is when we celebrate God in us.

It all started with God with us – not just near us, not just close to us, but one of us. He chose a humble family, He was born difficult circumstances, His family became refugees when they had to run from Herod’s cruel order to kill the baby boys, His earthly father a carpenter, His own occupation lowly… He became one. of. us.

Relatable. Accessible. Vulnerable. God became man – and not elevated, unreachable, royal man. He became ordinary man. And because of His birth, His life, His death, His resurrection and His Spirit, we now have access to God as our Abba – our Father. That is incredible!! God is no longer far off and unreachable. He is with us, in all our trials. With us, in all our griefs. With us, in all our needs. With us, in our reality. Jesus intercedes for us with the full knowledge and understanding and compassion for who we are.

Today, this day we celebrate Jesus, I pray for divine hope and assurance to flood through your heart and soul afresh! I pray for you, that you would realize once again the magnificence of what He did by coming to the earth for you and for me.

He came to seek and save the lost. Are you lost, today? Lost in sin or addictions, perhaps? Lost in grief? Lost in confusion? Maybe you feel like your dreams are lost or your hope is lost? Perhaps the chaos and hardships of 2020 have caused you to lose your assurance or your passion. Maybe you’ve lost fire, commitment and zeal? Maybe you’ve lost your love for the Lord? Perhaps, like a lost sheep, you wandered away in fatigue, or werr drawn away by something that once looked attractive but now, you’ve seen it for what it is…not worth leaving the flock or the Shepherd for. Perhaps you got stuck along the way and have become separated and lost because you were struggling to get free?

He came to seek and to save that which was lost. He is the Good Shepherd, willing and wanting to find all that has been lost. There is HOPE. There is hope for you, my friend! Do not despair! Do not give up! Do not give in! Do not let shame or embarrassment or stubbornness or weariness hold you back! Simply call out to Him today… tell Him what has been lost or stolen! He will hear you! He understands! He has come to seek and save!

He sees you. He loves you. He knows you by name! And for you, He left heavens throne to come right where you are… the Good Shepherd is here to find you, and carry you home.

Come, my friends… let us adore Him!

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for coming to the earth. Thank You for living as we do so You can understand and intercede. I feel lost. Some things have been lost in my life. I am calling out to You, Good Shepherd… I need You. Help me. Thank You for loving me enough to seek me out! Amen.
